When you sell a luxury travel experience, clients naturally have many questions: how comfortable and safe will the journey be, does the reality match the level promised, and what kind of experience awaits them along the way and at the destination. Photography can answer many of these questions in advance, remove doubts and help clients make a decision to purchase.

In the case of Deccan Odyssey, this situation comes from several factors: travelling through India, a country about which many people already have their own ideas and plenty of preconceptions, and spending several days on an Indian luxury train, with each morning bringing a new destination and a new programme. Every time guests step off the train, it is a separate event, and there is a great deal that could be shown in advance.

The task of the project was to find the balance between what is necessary and what is sufficient: to give people enough information to remove most of the questions they may have when choosing the journey, but not to show more than necessary, so that they are not deprived of the real experience when they step off the train for the first time.
