This is not the first time I have photographed this couple. Last time we were walking around the Gothic Quarter — taking classic Barcelona shots with arches, shadows and morning light in narrow streets.

A year later we decided to meet again. I suggested: "Let's swap the city for the beach at dawn and have a little mischief." The guys agreed.

We met at dawn. The beach was empty - only perfectly smooth sand, warm water and waves that seemed to play along with us.

What happened:

  • Running along the water's edge - just because we wanted to.

  • Dancing to the sound of the surf - they laughed: "We're like in the video, only without spectators!"

  • I suggested: "Let's get into the water with our clothes on!" They had never done that before - it turned out wet, funny and not at all adult-like.

These shots are currently being prepared for printing. I think they will serve as a reminder not only of Barcelona, but also of how great it is to sometimes go beyond the boundaries of “beautiful” and just be yourself.
